\nGhanaian-American Hip Hop artist Blitz The Ambassador has served up a new EP entitled \u2018The Warm Up Ep\u2019 which serves as a prelude for his upcoming 3rd album \u2018Afropolitan Dreams\u2019. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Blitz has an acute lyrical sense to be able to flow in and out of English, and his native tongue without even breaking a sweat. He retains a very strong presence throughout his tracks and his lyrics are never without meaning. The \u2018Warm Up EP\u2019 is a colorful arrangement of what\u2019s to come of his new album. <\/p>\n

People will hear songs on this EP and say that they sound dated. I ask \u2026 what is dated in music? Good music will always be good music \u2013 and this is good music. There\u2019s a very natural and unprocessed sound to \u2018The Warm Up Ep\u2019. You can tell that Blitz craves to carve out his own sounds and stay true to his African roots. <\/p>\n

The standout track on the album would have to be the single \u2018Dikembe\u2019. While I do feel there are lyrically stronger tracks on the album, \u2018Dikembe\u2019 is the whole package. He\u2019s got this fantastic flow going on and the beat induces instant head bopping. With a running time of just under two and a half minutes the track is DYING for another verse (hopefully this will come with the album). <\/p>\n

Other standout tracks include the thoughtful mellow \u2018Bisa\u2019 Ft. Nneka & Ty; the electrifying Busta Rhymes sampled \u2018The Warm Up\u2019 Ft. Fashawn and the powerful \u2018Royalty\u2019. Listeners will be nostalgic of all of the \u201cAfrica\u201d themed samples and references on the EP including; dialogue from \u2018Coming To America\u2019 and \u2018Shaft In Africa\u2019, and even a nice little reference to the \u201cPlaya Hater\u201d customer from \u2018Next Friday\u2019. <\/p>\n

\u2018The Warm Up EP\u2019 is a vibrant selection of songs and really demonstrates the versatility we can expect on the album \u2013 not just from Blitz but on the features he\u2019s chosen to include. From such strong songs on the EP it\u2019ll be interesting to see which songs make the album cut and what new tracks are going to be included. <\/p>\n
