\nNZ’s KORA are back at The Espy joined by fellow Kiwis Funkommunity. Check them out on January 25 at the next instalment of “Deep Roots”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Renowned for their mind blowing live shows, thanks to their powerhouse rhythm section and multiple vocalists, New Zealand heavyweights KORA have built a solid local fan-base in Australia over the past few years. Long sets, brimming with their unique brand of dub based reggae, infused with electro beats and thumping bass lines, sounds that get everyone moving and venues pumping.<\/p>\n

Platinum selling artists, and multiple award winners in their homeland for their recorded works and also for their work on the Sci Fi flavoured music video for \u2018Skankenstein\u2019, the five piece have won hearts in Australia with sell outs shows here becoming a regular part of their international tour plot.<\/p>\n

Joining KORA are fellow New Zealanders FUNKOMMUNITY – a collaboration that has been years in the making. Having first worked together on a song called \u2018I\u2019m All In\u2019 from Isaac\u2019s debut solo album \u2018Eye See\u2019, Isaac and Rachel\u2019s powerful dynamic is finally realized in their debut release.<\/p>\n

An accomplished vocalist and songwriter, Rachel Fraser\u2019s voice is reminiscent of old school jazz, soul and funk styles infused with contemporary R&B. Isaac is the producer and band leader of Funkommunity. Over the past decade, Isaac has been an integral part of many Kiwi acts Solaa, Opensouls, Recloose Live and Eru Dangerspiel and has also co-written songs with Aaradhna, Ladi6, Mara TK and Julien Dyne.<\/p>\n
