\nI immediately took to Mystro\u2019s new offering. Banging beats, Mystro\u2019s trademark multi-syllable rhyming patterns and a title that cracked me up – Digmund Freud was a nickname given to Mystro by DJ Debris on tour in \u201806. At 8 tracks in length, calling \u2018Digmund Freud\u2019 an EP is kind of an insult. I guess it\u2019s not quite the length of an LP by today\u2019s standards but you feel (musically) full after listening, if that makes any sense.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The lead track \u2018Around My Way\u2019 is an instant classic. It took me a while before I heard the rest of the tracks as I kept going back to this joint over and over again. As always Mystro destroys it lyrically, and Swerve smashes the production. Have a look for the \u2018Around My Way\u2019 video on YouTube. It shows Mystro busking his way around London. I love music videos that show an artist\u2019s personality as well as their musicality, this is one of those clips.<\/p>\n

The guests on \u2018Digmund Freud\u2019 certainly shine, especially Stig of the Dump. Stig\u2019s one my favorite UK emcee\u2019s and alongside Ramson Badbonez and Skandal he tears down the EP\u2019s obligatory posse track \u2018It\u2019s.\u2019 Mystro truly embraces the tongue in cheek EP title \u2018Digmund Freud\u2019 and offers some sage advice, not only on the title track, but also on \u2018Don\u2019t Worry\u2019, \u2018Moan, Moan, Moan\u2019 and \u2018Fly Away\u2019. Mystro manages to deliver his wisdom in a clever way without coming off as preachy. You get advice rather than instruction. This disc hasn\u2019t left my car stereo since I got a hold of it. I would encourage all listeners to follow the philosophies of \u2018Digmund Freud\u2019.<\/p>\n
