\nFashawn’s sophomore album, “The Ecology” notably denotes Nasir Jones as its executive producer. It could be easy to find comfort in the legendary headliners like Busta Rhymes, Aloe Blacc or Dom Kennedy and write it off as good because the accolades tell you so, but upon a few listens “The Ecology” reveals itself as Fashawn’s master piece and it’s good. Other prominent headliners on this album are DJ Khalil, BJ The Chicago Kid, Exile and more. <\/strong><\/p>\n

There’s an Ecology documentary released by Mass Appeal on YouTube which is also partly shot by Fashawn himself. It opens with his Mum, Vida Gibson, explaining “There is no way anyone can succeed in Fresno”, his hometown in California. Vida explains how she was addicted to drugs since a baby and so was her Mum. We’re shown how Fash is a dedicated father to his daughter, despite the absence of his own, and given insight into his skills as a strong emcee; overall, the video shows a real man with real life concerns just trying to do what he told his social worker he would do many years ago, be a rapper. “Just to be known and make it out of your city is fucken gigantic” says friend and rapper Evidence. <\/p>\n
