Sydney Hip Hop trio Loose Change, just months after an extensive album tour for “Listening Part”y, which included several dates with old pals Thundamentals, are back in the van in support of super smooth new single “Yes Or No”, kicking off in sunny Melbourne in support of mate Mantra.

“Yes Or No” turns the dial, and the lights, down a few notches, flipping the switch on the stereotypical commitment-phobic manscape, showing our lyrical heroes baring their hearts to their lady loves, imploring the song’s female antagonist – voiced here by the divine, soulful, Meklit Kebrit – to make a decision one way or another as to where her affections lie.

It’s a sweet turn from the cruisey dudes – MC’s Rapaport and Ellesquire, backed as ever by the super-smooth deckman P.Major – who shone a light on beautifully laid-back, jazz-inspired Hip Hop on their second LP, launching first single “Shoosh” straight into JJJ rotation, and following up with “Mess” – the ode to recent singledom, that spawned a 1940s filmclip [debuted on Home And Hosed] and [no doubt] the heartfelt begging on “Yes Or No”.

“Listening Party” – an unashamed ‘coming of age’ confessional, with the MCs [and Big village co-founders] Ellesquire and Rapaport and producer/multi-instrumentalist P.Major all hovering around 30 and sobered by the realization that growing up might be on the cards – came three years after the 2010 release of their debut, eponymous, album, but the time in between wasn’t idle.

Running a label, releasing solo works, and those of their label mates [Reverse Polarities among others], as well as hitting the road in support of Thundamentals, Horrorshow, Urthboy, Ozi Batla and Dialectrix [to name a few] as well as internationals including The Pharcyde, Gift Of Gab [Blackalicious] and Ultramagnetic MCs has kept the fellas busy enough.

Now, they’re firing and ready to ride on a national run of dates that will put the boys back in front of long-time fans, and introduce a legion of newbies to the fast-paced delivery and quick witted flows of two of Sydney’s favourite MCs.
